This move was spearheaded by owner Mandee Bence , whose experience with the hugely successful "Chonies" brand provided a solid foundation for this new endeavor. Leveraging her expertise in women's underwear, Bence helped seamlessly integrate proven designs and high-quality materials into the capsule collection. Bence explained the transition, stating,
"It was a fun challenge for me to take the knowledge and experience that I had and integrate it into our lounge line."
The collection, while starting with just a few key silhouettes—and a men’s boxer in one color—represented a significant step for Broken Promises. Co-founder Jason Rotramel added, "We had already been producing clothing and denim and cut and sew and creating special, unique products. And so launching our 'Lounge' line was like a cool push for us. Even though our first thing was just basically a few silhouettes, it was still a big deal for us."
