The concept, originally built around the 12 core emotions that inspire all our designs, took on a bold new form when we introduced the Anime Feeled Guide. Created in collaboration with Broken Promises co-founder and designer Mandee Bence, the Anime Feeled Guide turned emotions into a powerful and visually striking narrative.
The Vision Behind the Girls
Each emotion in the Anime Feeled Guide was reimagined through an anime-inspired character. Mandee conceptualized each girl’s look, pose, and vibe to perfectly embody one of the 12 core emotions. These characters took on a life of their own, resonating deeply with our audience, who connected with the rawness and relatability each girl portrayed. From love and regret to pain and lust, these characters visually represented the highs and lows of the human experience—something Broken Promises has always captured in our designs.
The Anime Fighters Collection
Following the initial success of the Anime Feeled Guide, the concept evolved into the Anime Fighters collection. Each character wasn’t just an embodiment of an emotion—they became fighters, each equipped with their own unique weapons and outfits, making them more than just art—they were symbols of strength, defiance, and identity.
Our audience couldn’t get enough. The Anime Fighters were not only featured on individual tees and tie-dye shirts, but also became a collection of limited-edition collector cards. Fans could either purchase the cards separately or receive one with each tee purchase. The collection became an instant hit, selling out almost immediately.
